Phil Collins on Broadway. Tarzan the musical, backed by Disney with music by Phil Collins, is the latest high-profile production to open on New York's Broadway stage. Big claims are being made for this stage version of Tarzan, the jungle warrior who will be celebrating his centenary just a few years from now. Full story 

Cannes police set festival strike. Police in Cannes are to stage a two-hour strike during the town's famous film festival later this month. The walkout could disrupt security arrangements at the 12-day gathering, which is expected to attract stars including Tom Hanks and Kirsten Dunst. Hundreds of officers are deployed in the French town during the festival. Full story 

MTV is to screen the whole series of controversial cartoon Popetown in Germany despite opposition from Catholic bishops. The music channel broadcast the first episode of the show, which features a Pope on a pogo stick, this month. Full story

The Desperate Housewives star also got an apology from the National Enquirer.
