Q-What makes you mad?
Amanda: Cruelty. Hypocrisy. Rudeness.
Q-And do you make people mad at You?
Amanda: I'm sure I do. Not often.
Q-What do you do to make them mad?
Amanda: It varies.
Q-Do you follow fashion?
Amanda: Somewhat. I don't have the body for most modern styles...I'm afraid, I'm built like a regular woman.
But I have my own style.
Q-Do you have pets?
Amanda: Yes! Two wonderful dogs and three beloved cats.
Q- What was the most delightful gift you have ever received?
Amanda: There have been so many. I can't even imagine.
Q-And the best gift you gave?
Amanda: Hopefully, my music.

Q-What are your best qualities as an artist?
Amanda: I am honest, dependable, not a diva, always show up on time and do my best.
Q-And as a woman?
Amanda: Same as above. And funny.
Q-Have you ever had any unpleasant experience on stage with producers, singers, peers?
Amanda: Not really. I give people room to be who they are, and if we don't get along, I stay out of the way.
Q-Are you an executive producer, a no nonsense business woman or fun?
Amanda: Fun!
Q-What do you do for fun?
Amanda: Camping, horse back riding, gardening, yoga, playing with my animals and friends. And MOVIES! I love movies!
Q-Who are the most difficult people in show business?
Amanda: Those who think they are more talented than they are.
Q-How do you deal with them?
Amanda: Give them room. They will eventually hang themselves.                                                                        Q-What was your worst nightmare experience in your multi-dimensional career?
 

 

Amanda: I was given a major role in a major film and one day before we started shooting, the star decided I was too young for him. I never got another film role.
Q-How many times do you perform a year?
Amanda: It varies.                                                                                             Q-Do you go for big productions, elaborate stages or intimate cozy ambiences?
Amanda: All of the above.
Q-Have you ever performed in a very small and obscure place?
Amanda: All the time.
Q-Why did you do it?
Amanda: It's fun...it's more intimate...nothing gets in the way.
Q-Where the reaction (s)  and attitudes of the producers, stage directors and audiences in the small places where you performed different from those reactions and rapports you usually receive and experience in large, flashy
dashy stages, concert halls and theaters?
Amanda: More personal and enthusiastic.
Q-Your favorite American and foreign female singers and songwriters?
Amanda: Wow! Jennifer Warnes. Annie Lennox. Suzanne Andrews. Julie Andrews. A wonderful and obscure American singer/writer named Susan Werner. Michele Brourman. Marilyn Bergman. Ann Hampton Callaway. Julie Wilson. Marilyn Lovell Matz.
Q-And American and foreign favorite female torch singers?
Amanda: Ute Lemper. Piaf, of course. Peggy Lee. Shirley Horn. Diane Krall. Sarah Vaughan. Patsy Cline.

AMANDA McBROOM'S ADVICE AND TIPS

Q-Any advice to all those aspiring and struggling talented artists who need a break?
Amanda: Do not give up hope. Know your strengths and weaknesses. Don't be afraid to toot your own horn. You are your own best salesman. But tell the truth!

Q-What they should do when they are rejected?
Amanda: Try again and again and remember, it's always only one person's opinion. The opinion that counts is your own.
